Kansas Environmental Education Conference

30 Sep

I just learned about all the great stuff that’s going to be at the Kansas Environmental Education Conference, Nov 4-5, and I’m getting more and more excited!  It will take place at the Highland Hotel in Great Bend, KS.

There is a wonderful pre-conference workshop at the Wetlands Eduation Center at Cheyenne Bottoms on Nov 3 that will go over the cool new Project WET activities.  It’s a first look for educators of the new curriculum!

The Conference’s goal is to include more hands-on, outdoor components.   The business meeting will be outdoors (if the weather is good).  Field studies to an OWLS site, Cheyenne Bottoms and Turner Farms.  There will be an outdoor viewing of Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time on Friday evening.  Saturday morning’s opening session will be “A Taste of EE” where you will experience demonstrations of EE activities to take back to your classroom!
