Nominate your school for a Green Ribbon Schools Award!

13 Feb

Beginning in the 2011-2012 school year, the U.S. Department of Education is recognizing schools where staff, students, officials and communities have worked together to produce energy efficient, sustainable and healthy school environments and to ensure the sustainability and environmental literacy of graduates.

To apply to become a Green Ribbon School, schools must submit a nomination form to the Kansas State Department of Education. Click here to learn more about the award and how to submit a nomination for your school! The deadline for nominations is now March 2.

In addition, the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education (KACEE) is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 4pm CST where you will get information on how to nominate your school, have opportunities to ask questions about the nomination process and learn more about the resources available to you in completing your school’s nomination.  To participate in this webinar, please RSVP via email to Laura Downey at:  ldowney@kacee.org and webinar/phone instructions will be sent.
